Janet and Justin decided to do their engagement photos at Pigeon Lake, where their family owned a cottage. It was a beautiful autumn day and unseasonably warm. We took advantage of the golden hour and watched the sun set. Sunset is my favourite time to shoot photos because the light is perfect. For weddings, we can’t always control when the formals will take place, or because of our northern latitude, the sun sets way too late, especially for spring weddings. So, we take advantage of it when we can! There is a lot more control over timing with engagement photos, and we can be flexible to ensure the best light possible. I will post their wedding soon, which was also incredibly gorgeous!!!
