Maligne Lake Wedding

I won’t lie, most wedding photographers in Alberta look forward to mountain weddings-the scenery makes for such perfect photos every time!  This was my first time at Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park.  I can’t even describe how beautiful it is. The Maligne Lake Chalet itself is wonderfully rustic.  Andrea and Graham had the perfect setting…

Kim and Martin, Married | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

All day at Kim and Martin’s wedding, I was struck by how much everyone loved each other. Of course weddings are all about love, and I see it at every one, but this wedding was even more so.  Kim was extra lucky, in that her grown children were able to participate. Most brides have their mothers…

A Smoky Morinville Wedding

Elise and Scott did their engagement photos in Morinville, Alberta last year on a beautiful clear September day.  Well, quite the opposite on their wedding day.  The sun was trying to peek through the haze, but it didn’t fail in its attempt to fry us to bits. Forest fires in Jasper National Park made the…

Mandy and Jason’s Stephenville, Newfoundland wedding

We are so fortunate that we got to meet Mandy and Jason and travel to Newfoundland where they were married.  As we have family in Newfoundland, like lots of people in Alberta, it is not often we get to go back and visit.  Not to mention the beautiful backdrop of Stephenville and surrounding area.  We…

Moments, not Mason Jars.

This groom wrote the most beautiful song for his bride.  While performed impeccably, both of them were overcome with emotion.  The love in the room was palpable.  This remains one of my favourite weddings of all time. So many beautiful miracles came together to bring these two together. While I love all the details…

This little girl knows she’s in an Edmonton wedding!

I love the look on this little girl’s face.  To be clear, this bride had lovely feet and amazing shoes……but the little girl’s face would suggest she’s trying to squeeze Cinderella’s stepsisters’ feet into a glass slipper!  Cracks me up.

Kimberley Photographer’s Retreat

Last year, I had the opportunity to meet a fantastic group of women who also happen to be photographers in Central Alberta, and BC. We met up in Bowden, Alberta, at Janelle Awe Photography‘s studio. I only got to be there one day but it was wonderful connecting with great local photographers, especially since I was…

A Devonian Botanical Gardens Wedding | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Jen and Keith chose the most perfect October day to get married! It was warm, and the colours at Devonian Botanical Gardens outside of Edmonton, Alberta were breathtaking. They had a first look, a special supper for the kids, and so many lovely details that were executed perfectly. The reception was held at the restaurant…

Teralyn and Matt’s Brantford, Ontario Wedding

Teralyn is my baby cousin. I remember when she was born, and I remember holding her. She was a sweet kid and a victim of my early photography days. Once, when she was 4, I made her stand up on the arm of a couch on her tippy toes so I could catch some amazing…

The Undead Newlyweds at the Edmonton Fringe Festival 2014

Last year we had the privilege of shooting Edmonton Fringe Festival performers The Undead Newlyweds.  We thought it might be “ironic” (in the hipster sense) to shoot them as we would a regular couple, only…..darker.  Don’t miss their performances at this year’s Edmonton Fringe Festival!
