Welcome to

THE BLOG

Moments, not Mason Jars.

This groom wrote the most beautiful song for his bride.  While performed impeccably, both of them were overcome with emotion.  The love in the room was palpable.  This remains one of my favourite weddings of all time. So many beautiful miracles came together to bring these two together. While I love all the details…

This little girl knows she’s in an Edmonton wedding!

I love the look on this little girl’s face.  To be clear, this bride had lovely feet and amazing shoes……but the little girl’s face would suggest she’s trying to squeeze Cinderella’s stepsisters’ feet into a glass slipper!  Cracks me up.

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Moody Monday

Mondays get a bad rap. This Edmonton wedding photographer doesn’t mind them so much, and I enjoy getting back into a routine after a normal weekend of chaos.  In keeping with the Moody Monday theme, I’m posting an image I took at a wedding in 2014. I took this photo while second shooting with Erin Falk in…

Kimberley Photographer’s Retreat

Last year, I had the opportunity to meet a fantastic group of women who also happen to be photographers in Central Alberta, and BC. We met up in Bowden, Alberta, at Janelle Awe Photography‘s studio. I only got to be there one day but it was wonderful connecting with great local photographers, especially since I was…

Baby Cali | Edmonton Newborn Photographer

While my main focus is weddings, I also get to be an Edmonton newborn photographer sometimes too! I got to meet Baby Cali when she was three weeks old. She is so perfect and slept wonderfully for the shoot.  I will be shooting her Mom and Dad’s wedding this summer in Stephenville, Newfoundland! Congratulations on…

Project 365 Day 3 | Edmonton Family Photographer

This little helper was trying to help me put away cutlery and was quite indignant when I wouldn’t let him play with the knives.  One day you will understand I hope!  Taken on my old 5D with a 50mm lens ISO 1600, F1.4 at 1/400th of a second.

Project 365 Day 2 | Edmonton Family Photographer

Be forewarned…….many of these pictures will be of my boys.  They can be a daily challenge but those rare moments of co-operation make me see what lovely young men I am raising. They love each other, and I am so thankful for that. Oh, and yes that is their favourite toy of the moment…..a salad spinner.

Project 365

Happy New Year!  I am very glad to symbolically leave 2014 behind.  Although I got to meet many lovely clients and shoot many wonderful weddings, we experienced loss and heartache as well with the passing of my mom. I fight with the feeling that each day that passes is a day that takes me further from…

Edmonton Winter Family Session |Edmonton family photographer

Brrrrr….as the cold air hit we decided to stay indoors. Even though the spring and summer seem to be the time people love getting their family photos done, I love Edmonton winter family sessions. The snow gives the light such an ethereal quality. This family was so welcoming, calm, loving and happy.  It was so…

Baby S | Edmonton Newborn Photography

I love photographing newborns!  This Edmonton newborn photography session was with a special little guy who came into the world a couple of weeks early. I loved holding him and rocking him to sleep.  Newborn babies make me want another one! Of course I couldn’t resist taking one of his big sister!
